Description
The basic load of electric power has been supplied mainly by nuclear power plants recently, because principally nuclear power plants have been continuously operating with normal power and the number of their units increased gradually. Most of oil-fired power plants were used for load following. Even supercritical pressure power plants are forced into weekly-start-stop or daily-start-stop operation in many cases. This paper aimed at determining the effect of start-up operation on corrosion and corrosion products transport in steam-water cycle. The tests were performed in a supercritical pressure boiler (steel feedwater heater tubes and a subcritical pressure drum-type boiler (copper alloy feedwater heater tubes)
