Shock stand off Calculations for Hemisphere in Hypersonic Flows

  • 1. National Engineering and Scientific Commission, Islamabad (Pakistan)

Description

The shape and location of shock has been studied by solving the axi symmetric Navier Stokes Equations for a hemisphere in hypersonic flow. The effect of Mach number on shock stand-off distance has been investigated. It is found that the shock location varies with Mach number and the free stream conditions at a given nose radius.
