Interaction of indium tribromide and indium triiodide with thallium bromide and thallium iodide in melt

  • 1. Universitet Druzhby Narodov, Moscow (USSR)

Description

The systems InBr3-TlBr and InI3-TlI were studied with thermal roentgenophase analyses, nuclear quadripole resonance (NQR) method and by measuring conductivity of the melts. Indium tribromide and thalium bromide produce two compounds Tl3InBr6 and TlInBr4 decomposing at 340 and 210 deg C respectively. Indium tribromide and thallium iodide produce the compounds TlInI4 and 9TlI.11InI3.TlInI4 melts in congruently at 225 deg C and has two modifications. 9TlI.11InI3 decomposes at 151 deg C (below the eutectic melting point, 161 deg C). The compounds 9Tl.11InI3 and TlInBr4 were detected with NQR method and confirmed by DTA
