Particularly recently, the Hessian local government has tried profiling itself with a comprehensive nuclear programme, containing: the extension of the nuclear power station in Biblis with block C, making it the biggest in the world; plans for a reprocessing plant in North Hessen and the plans for the securing of locations for large thermalpower stations with 12 locations for 3 further atomic power stations, and in addition, an unspecified number of conventional power-stations with are already in a prelimary form. Die hessische Landesregierung versucht sich, zumal in juengster Zeit, durch ein umfangreiches Atomprogramm zu profilieren, bestehend aus der Erweiterung des KKW Biblis um Block C zum groessten KKW der Welt; Plaenen zum Bau einer Wiederaufbereitungsanlage (WWA) in Nordhessen und dem Standortsicherungsplan fuer grosse Waermekraftwerke mit 12 Standorten fuer drei weitere KKW's und zusaetzlich eine unbestimmte Anzahl konventioneller Kraftwerkde, der bereits in einer vorlaeufigen Fassung existiert.
