Field of fast electrons in an aluminum target

  • 1. Institute of Surface Chemistry, Kiev (Russian Federation)

Description

A procedure for computing the operating spectrum of fast electrons in an extended target has been generalized to the case of irradiation of a semi-infinite material by a beam of high energy (0.5-2 MeV) electrons. The operating spectrum of fast electrons in a semi-infinite aluminum target is calculated. It is shown that the contribution of the low energy component to the electron operating spectrum is substantial and increases with depth into the target. 15 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab
