Radiodiagnosis of Cerebellopontine-angle tumors

Description

The most important radiodiagnostic signs of cerebellopontine-angle tumors are demonstrated. The value of plain films and special projections is discussed. The use of recent diagnostic procedures like scintography, CT and cisternography with oily contrast medium is critically analyzed. The advantage and disadvantages of these procedures are discussed according to their usefullness in evaluating size, route of spread and localisation of cerebellopontine-angle tumors. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Die wichtigsten roentgenologischen Kriterien von Kleinhirnrueckenwinkeltumoren werden aufgezeigt. Es wird auch auf die bereits durch Roentgenuebersichts- und Spezialaufnahmen moeglichen differentialdiagnostischen Erkenntnisse eingegangen. Von den 'modernen' radiologischen Untersuchungsverfahren werden die Hirnszintigraphie, die Computertomographie und die Diagnostik mit oeligem Kontrastmittel einer kritischen Bewertung unterzogen. Ihre Vor- und Nachteile werden beschrieben, insbesondere in bezug auf die diagnostische Wertigkeit der verschiedenen Methoden, was die Groesse, die Ausbreitungsrichtung und die Lokalisation der Kleinhirnbrueckenwinkelgeschwuelste angeht.
