Description

The effect of filler content on curing characteristics, tensile properties and fracture surfaces of alumina nanoparticles reinforced epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) composites has been studied. The cure (t90) and scorch times of composite decreased with increasing amount of alumina nanoparticles. The torque values increased with an increase in filler content. Increasing alumina nanoparticles content in ENR compound decreased tensile strength and elongation at break but increased tensile modulus. The fracture surface and dispersion of alumina nanoparticles in ENR show direct relation to the tensile properties of the compounds. (Author)
