An noninvasive and biological methods, bone mineral density (BMD) measurements can do benefits to the quantitative analysis of bone mineral content (BMC). So, it is helpful for early diagnosis, prevention and curative effect evaluation of osteoporosis and predicting the risk of bone fracture. At present time, various kinds of techniques can measure BMD. The author gives a review of the techniques and their progress
