A new technique of tuning an interdigital accelerating structure of the ion linear accelerator

Description
Design and electrodynamic characteristics of the accelerating interdigital structure have been calculated in the 3D version. Inductance-capacitance-type tuners ('contrivance') have been developed in the form of rods located on the drift tube side, which is opposite to the setting stems. It is demonstrated that the interdigital accelerating structure can be tuned with the use of this simple and efficient system only
