Reasons for different solubility of alkali metal chlorides in cadmium nitrate solutions

Description
Maximum solubility of MCl salts (M=Li, Na, K, Cs) in solutions of cadmium nitrate and perchlorate of different concentration was measured in detail for studying the reason for different solubility of alkali metal chlorides in aqueous solutions of cadmium nitrate with concentration of 0.9 and 4.1 mol/l. It is shown that in the framework of phenomenological model of the solutions concentrated solutions of salts forming several crystallohydrates can be considered as a system of mixed solvents. In this case, preferable interaction of LiCl and CsCl with the Cd(NO3)2·9H2O type solvent, while NaCl and KCl - with the Cd(NO3)2·4H2O type solvent can be mentioned

С целью изучения причины различной растворимости хлоридов щелочных металлов в водных растворах нитрата кадмия с концентрацией 0.9 и 4.1 моль/л детально измерена максимальная растворимость солей MCl (M=Li, Na, K, Cs) в растворах нитрата и перхлората кадмия различных концентраций. Показано, что в рамках феноменологической модели растворов концентрированные растворы солей, образующих несколько кристаллогидратов, можно рассматривать как систему смешанных растворителей. В этом случае можно говорить о предпочтительном взаимодействии LiCl и CsCl с растворителем типа Cd(NO3)2·9H2O, а NaCl и KCl - с Cd(NO3)2·4H2OAdditional details
