Light impurity measurements by 2-4 MeV 4He+ beam using recoil detection and forward scattering

Description

The paper deals with light impurity measurements by 2-4 MeV 4He+ beam using recoil detection and forward scattering. The forward scattering method is extended down to the epergy region of a standard Van de Graaf accelerator, preservipg most of the advantageous properties i.e. versatility and high sensitivity. It still requires thir film targets. The 2 MeV analysis showes that the 15 MeV detector resolution causes interferences in the recoiled spectrum. The recoiled hydrogen, carbon, oxygen and the scattered part of 3H or 3He can not be separated properly. By 2 MeV beam only 2H and 4He are measurable
