Within the perspective of the 8. NPT review conference, M. Heisbourg (chairman of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and member of the International Commission on Nuclear Non proliferation and Disarmament or ICNND) comments how the works of the commission has been present in the international debate on these issues during the past year, and comments the content of the report 'Eliminating nuclear threats' published by the commission. He also comments the objective proposed by the Commission of a 90 per cent reduction of the world nuclear arsenal by 2025. He discusses the chance of recommendations made by the Commission to be adopted by the Review Conference. He finally outlines how the TNP Review Conference can take benefit of the ICNND's approach and programme
