Flow characteristics in a rod bundle under gas-liquid counter-current flows

Description

Flow characteristics in rod bundles under counter-current gas liquid flows have not been well evaluated except for counter-current flow limitation (CCFL). In our previous studies, we had measured CCFL (falling liquid velocity JL for updraft gas velocity JG), pressure gradient dP/dz and void fraction α, and we obtained the wall and interfacial friction factors (fw and fi). The measured CCFL characteristics differed with the existing data arranged according to the gas and liquid velocities at the upper grid plate, but agreed with them when arranged according to the velocities in the rod bundle, and a CCFL correlation was obtained by using the velocities in the rod bundles. In this study, we evaluated correlations to compute α and dP/dz in an accident analysis for a nuclear reactor. As a result, we found the fw value became negative due to multidimensional flows in the region of large JG, hence correlations were obtained for fi and the liquid film thickness δ (whose uncertainties were relatively small). When the fw value was needed, we found that it could be computed by using the liquid film model with the fi and δ correlations. The fw values obtained from the fi and δ correlations agreed well with the measured fw including negative values. (author)

Abstract (Japanese)

ロッドバンドルにおける気液対向流条件での流動特性は,落下水制限(CCFL)を除いて,ほとんど評価されていない.そこで,これまでに,3×3 ロッドバンドルで空気・水対向流実験を行い,CCFL(上昇気相速度JG に対する落下液速度JL)および圧力勾配dP/dz とボイド率α を測定し,液膜流モデルを用いて壁面と気液界面での摩擦係数(fw とfi)を求めた.CCFL 特性は,上部格子板での速度を用いると従来データと一致せず,バンドル内での速度を用いると従来データとよく一致し,バンドル内での速度を用いてCCFL 相関式を作成した.本報告では,原子炉の事故解析でα とdP/dz を計算するための相関式について検討した.その結果,JG が大きくなると多次元流れの影響によりfwが負になるため,相対的に不確かさが小さいfiと液膜厚さδの相関式を作成した.fwの値が必要な場合には液膜流モデルおよびfiとδの相関式から求めるのがよいことを明らかにした.fiとδの相関式からfwを求めると,負の値を含めてfwの測定値とよく一致した.(著者)
