Evidence for abundance differences among giant branch stars in the globular cluster ω Centauri
Description
Abundance differences among stars on the upper giant branch of the globular cluster ω Cen are shown to exist. Their origin appears to lie in the mixing out of the products of nuclear reactions. A weak, slow neutron flux was probably present. Two of the observed stars resemble marginal Ba II stars. (orig.)

Es wird gezeigt, dass zwischen den Sternen des oberen Riesenzweigs des Kugelsternhaufens ω Cen Haeufigkeitsunterschiede bestehen, die dem Anschein nach auf eine Ausmischung der Produkte von Kernreaktionen zurueckzufuehren sind. Wahrscheinlich bestand ein schwacher langsamer Neutronenfluss. Zwei der beobachteten Sterne entsprechen Ba II - Randsternen. (orig./AK)Additional details
