  • 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes de la Vallee du Rhone, 30 - Marcoule (France). Dept. d'Exploitation du Retraitement et de Demantelement

Description

The aim of the SESAME process is the selective recovery of oxidized americium from high-level liquid wastes while minimizing secondary waste production. The main steps of this process are: the electrochemical oxidation and the complexation of americium in the presence of the poly anionic ligand P2 W17 O6110-, the extraction of oxidized americium. The results obtained on a mixed oxide fuel solution are presented. (O.M.)
