Properties of the transitions populating and depopulating the 279 keV level in 75As

Description
The low-energy gamma-ray spectrum of 75As from 75Sc has been investigated using a 6 mm x 6 mm Si(Li) spectrometer. The intensity of the 24.4 keV transition has been found to be 0.07 +- 0.01. No evidence has been found for the presence of a 14.9 keV transition. From directional correlation measurements involving the 24.4 keV transition detected in the Si(Li) detector, the multipolarity of this transition has been found to be delta(E3/M2)sub(24.4) =0.18 +- 0.02. The internal conversion process of the 279 keV transition seems to be normal. No effect of the chemical environment has been observed on the (121 γ-279γ) directional correlation coefficients.
