Very long baseline interferometric observations of OH/IR stars

  • 1. Owens Valley Radio Observatory and Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences, California Institute of Technology

Description

Very long baseline interferometric observations of five type II OH/IR objects indicate that the apparent size of the masing components is greater than approx.0''.1. The present observations, combined with current theories, indicate that the 1612-MHz OH maser associated with Mira variables originates in the outer regions of the circumstellar dust
