57Fe and 119Sn Moessbauer effect measurements were performed on a series of complexes of the type (CO)4FeL with L being organoelement (IVa)-phosphine, [(CH3)3C]sub(3-n)P[E(CH3)3]sub(n) (n = 0,1,2,2; E = Si, Sn), to gain some insight into the nature of the phosphorus-element (IVa) bond as well as the iron-nearest neighbour bond. The results of the Moessbauer measurements are in contradiction to the widely discussed presence of (p → d)sub(π) interaction in the phosphorus-element (IVa) bond. In accordance with NMR and vibrational spectroscopic studies they rather suggest that (p → d)sub(π) interaction be of little importance. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Der Moessbauereffekt in 57Fe und 119Sn wurde an einer Reihe von Komplexen des Typs (CO)4FeL gemessen, wobei L ein Organoelement (IVa)-phosphin, [(CH3)3C]sub(3-n) P[E(CH3)3]sub(n) (n = 0, 1, 2, 2; E = Si, Sn) war, um die Eigenschaften der Bindung Phosphor-Element (IVa) als der dem Eisen naechsten Nachbarbindung zu untersuchen. Die Ergebnisse der Moessbauer-Messungen stehen im Widerspruch zu dem oft diskutierten Auftreten einer (p → d)sub(π)-Wechselwirkung in der Bindung Phosphor-Element (IVa). In Uebereinstimmung mit NMR-Untersuchungen und schwingungsspektroskopischen Untersuchungen sprechen sie eher dafuer, dass die (p-d)sub(π)-Wechselwirkung unbedeutend ist. (orig./AK)Additional details
