Doubly graded σ-model and the superstrings

  • 1. Nationaal Inst. voor Kernfysica en Hoge-Energiefysica (NIKHEF), Amsterdam (Netherlands)

Description

Two-dimensional σ-models have recently become important in the context of string theory as they provide a description of strings moving on some curved background space-time. From the other point of view (which I will follow) one can also consider the σ-model as a generalization of string theory. (author)
