Classification and status of nuclear geophysics techniques

  • 1. AN SSSR, Novosibirsk. Inst. Geologii i Geofiziki

Description

The nuclear-physical methods of analysis used in nuclear geophysics are subdivided into radiometric (based on measurement of natural alpha- beta- and gamma radiation) methods, analysis utilizing radioisotope sources (X-ray-radiometric-, neutron-, alpha-, beta-, and gamma-methods), and analysis utilizing accelerators (8 subsections); radiometry or radiometric survey subdivided into field survey, depth search, well logging and testing; radioisotopic geophysics or exploration including neutron- and gamma techniques subdivided in their turn in connection with the object explored (survey, well logging, testing); accelerator geophysics or exploration also subdivided into neutron- and gamma methods, or into well logging or truck survey depending on the object explored
