Volume diffusion and grain boundary diffusion of carbon 14 in molybdenum
Description
Diffusion tests, using 14C as a tracer, were carried out on as-cast molybdenum sample containing 30 and 300 ppm of carbon. Various diffusion mechanisms are proposed: diffusion in the vacancies and the dislocations, intergranular diffusion. Micrography examinations show the location of carbon and its important effects on Mo microstructure, mechanical behavior and diffusion phenomena
