Description

The effects of ionozing radiation on the human body are described, including acute effects as well as the long-term effects of small doses on which radiation protection norms are based. It is concluded that more is known about radiation hazards than that of any other toxic agent. Consequently, these norms are well established internationally since 1928 by the International Commission on Radiological Protection

Die gevolge van ioniserende straling op die menslike liggaam word beskrywe, insluitende die akute simptome sowel as die langtermyneffekte van klein dosisse waarop stralingsbeskermingsnorme gebaseer is. Daar word besluit dat meer bekend is oor stralingsgevare as oor enige ander gevaarhoudende stof. Gevolglik is hierdie norme goed gevestig sedert 1928 deur die Internasionale Kommissie op Stralingsbeskerming
