On the problem of the magnetic field strength rate increase in the regime of two-step nuclei acceleration in the JINR synchrophasotron

Description

Some problems are considered that relate to the technical feasibility of the magnetic field strength increase rate and ensuring the synchrotron acceleration in this regime, if a certain acceleration system is used. The studies carried out show the technical feasibility of ensuring the magnetic field strength increase rate and the advantages of the two-step acceleration in the JINR synchrophasotron. This allows the accelaration of nuclei with a higher atomic number than that of helium to be ensured at moderate expenses
