Description
This chapter examines the effective potential for nucleon-antinucleon scattering obtained by making a G-parity transformation of the effective potential obtained by using a quasipotential equation. It is found that the short range behavior of the real part of the potential (or the contribution coming from the direct channel) is sufficiently modified when going from a nonrelativistic framework to a relativistic equation that the predictive power of nonrelativistic potential models for describing strongly bound N-N states has to be regarded as doubtful
