Damage to nuclear materials
Description
This brief review outlines some of the major problem areas, and in doing so concentrates on the underlying physical phenomena rather than discussing in detail their implications. The physics of gas bubbles in solids is discussed briefly prior to outlining their technological significance in nuclear fuels. After outlining the physics behind the important technological phenomena of void swelling in structural components of fast reactors the author briefly discusses the implications of void swelling in relation to fast reactor design.
