Relationship between surface tension and refractive index in binary non-electrolyte mixtures

Description
Lorentz-Lorenz equation for molecular refraction has been combined with Sugden's parachor equation for binary non-electrolyte mixtures at 298.15 K. The obtained equation has been shown successful in calculating values of surface tensions, by measuring refractive indices of the binary mixtures at the same mole fractions. The estimated error decreases when the mixtures present possible isorefractives. (Author)

La ecuacion de Lorentz-Lorenz para la refraccion molar se ha correlacionado con el paracoro de Sugden para mezclas binarias no electroliticas a 298.15 K. La ecuacion obtenida resulta util para calcular valores de tensiones superficiales de mezclas de la misma fraccion molar. Los errores estimados decrecen cuando los componentes de la mezcla presentan indices de refraccion similares. (Autor)Additional details
