The magnetoelectric effect (ME)sub(H) in the ferroelastics NaFe(MoO4)2 and Ksub(0.8)Nasub(0.2)Fe(MoO4)2

Description
Examination of the existence of antiferromagnetic ordering in the ferroelastics NaFe(MoO4)2 and Ksub(0.8)Nasub(0.2)Fe(MoO4)2 and determination of the Neel temperature Tsub(N) was carried out by aid of the magnetoelectric method of Tsub(N) determination. The dependence of the magnetoelectric (ME)sub(H) signal Psub(in) upon the magnetic field strength has been measured at few temperatures. The curves show spin-flop appeareance caused by the critical magnetic field and indicate that antiferromagnetic ordering exists. The Tsub(N) determination is based on the strong linearity of the dependence of spin-flop magnetic field Hsub(c) upon temperature and extrapolation of Hsub(c) to 0 0C
