Calculation of thermodynamic characteristics and parameters of structure of thallium, indium and potassium amalgams

Description
Consideration is being given to thermodynamic properties of binary metal melts with different depth of interatomic interaction (Tl-Hg, In-Hg, K-Hg) from the viewpoint of ''surrounded atom'' and cluster models. The known methematical body of both models are used to calculate thermodynamic and structural characteristics of thallium, indium and potassium amalgams at temperatures above liquidus. It is shown that maximums of probabilities of KHg2, InHg and Tl2Hg5 metallide formation, determined with the use of surrounded atom model is coincident with maximal concentration of KHsub(1.5), InHg and TlHg2 metallides, existing in melts according to calculations with theuse of cluster model
