From nuclear industry
Description
This document gathers pieces of information from around the world concerning nuclear industry. The most relevant ones are as follows. The American company NuScale has signed an agreement with the Polish enterprise KGMH for the use of small modular reactors. KGMH is indeed a copper ore mining company that uses large amount of electrical power. The Finnish EPR (OL3) that went critical in december 2021 has passed the zero power physical test phase and has entered the second testing phase where the maximal power allowed is 30%. The Nucleoelectrica Argentina Company and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) have signed an agreement for the construction of a Hualong One reactor (1000 MWe) on the Atucha site. Scientists working on the Joint European Torus (JET) have announced the production of 59 MJ through thermonuclear fusion for 5 seconds which is a milestone and a very promising result for ITER. In Brazil the works on the Angra-3 reactor have resumed, it is estimated that the reactor is 65% complete. The Swedish Government has given its green light for the construction of a site for the geological disposal of spent fuels. Sweden is the second country (after Finland) to have chosen this solution.
