Description
Alloying the basis alloy 95Ti - 5Dy with silicon and tin is shown to result in both a significant decrease of plasticity and an increase of strength at room temperature and at 800 degree C. The annealing of the alloys at 1200 degree C during 31 h has drastically changed the phase composition and increased the low-temperature plasticity and high-temperature strength. The optimum combination of these characteristics is observed in the alloy with tin that is related to the appearance of the phase
