Radio-isotope investigations in cardiological practice

Description

Instead of reviewing the usefulness of radioisotopes in cardiological practice, some examples, in which the role of Nuclear Medicine is emphasized, are developed. They are as follows: the diagnosis of coronary artery disease with thallium 201 in patients undergoing exercise testing or pharmacological testing; the evaluation of left ventricular function by gamma-angiography in the acute phase of myocardial infarction; study of cardiac kinetics by exercise gamma-angiography or therapeutic testing

Abstract (French)

Plutot que d'enumerer toutes les situations dans lesquelles les radioisotopes peuvent etre utiles, on a developpe quelques exemples qui mettent en lumiere la place de la Medecine Nucleaire en pratique cardiologique. Ce sont: le diagnostic de la maladie coronarienne par la scintigraphie au thallium 201 couplee avec une epreuve d'effort ou une epreuve pharmaceutique; l'evaluation de la fonction ventriculaire gauche a la phase aigue de l'infarctus du myocarde par la gamma angiographie; les etudes de la cinetique cardiaque couplees avec des tests diagnostiques ou therapeutiques
