On peculiarities of interaction of uranyl chloride with pyridine
Creators
Description
A study was made on interaction of anhydrous UO2Cl2 and UO2Cl2xH2O with pyridine (Py). It is shown that for preparation of UO2Cl2x3Py the absence of water and other oxygen-containing ligands in the system is required. The compound was investigated by methods of oscillatory spectroscopy and thermal analysis in 100-300 deg C temperature range in inert atmosphere. It is also shown that during UO2Cl2xH2O interaction the displacement of chloride ions into the solution takes place. U:C:Py ratio in solid product was 1:1.5:2.5. The presence of --U-O-U- oxygen bridge in the compound (wide bands at 489 and 467 cm-1) as well as pyridine in coordinated and protonated forms was established by spectroscopy. It is suggested that ionization of water molecules with UO2Cl2xH2O is the cause of formation of polymer compound and pyridine protonating. Agent decomposition in inert atmosphere proceeds in a complicated manner and is accompanied by pyridine and PyHCl separation. The formula [U2O5Cl3x4Py]PyH was put down to the agent on the basis of investigations carried on
