Description

Catalysts on the basis of Zr-Co system have been studied The effect of Zr/Co ratio on the composition and properties of contacts in the reaction between CO and H2 is considered' To increase the activity of the catalysts initial compounds are subjected to preliminary redox heat treatment at 350 deg C, which results in the formation of catalytically active component in the surface layer. It is shown that the presepce of hydride subsystem, which can be exchanged for H2 in crystal lattice and gaseous phase, affects catalytic properties of contacts on the basis of intermetallic systems and their hydrides The most active catalysts of CO methanation on the basis of Zr-Co intermetallides are determined by their ability to adsorb and evolve H2 easily, by selective segregation of catalytically active metal, by the degree of metal segregation. It is assumed that CO hydridation in the presence of catalysts on the basis of Zr-Co intermetallides takes place through the stage of dissociative decomposition of CO molecule, at the same time formation of Co surface carbides, which are then hydridated to CH4, is possible
