A unified code of radioactive and chemical incidents

Description

The Scale for Nuclear Industry (SNI), considered in the previous units, is offered for replacement of the well-known International Nuclear Events Scale (INES), which originally was developed with reference to Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) and recently was unreasonably widespread on the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities (NFCF). The SNI differences from INES amount of levels, a class of estimated events and set of criteria for estimation. These differences are caused mainly by necessity to account specific character of NFCF, in particular, to account chemical (toxic) danger inherent NFCF. Besides, some methodological errors of INES, for example, dependence of one criterion of estimation on other, were eliminated in SNI. (author)(tk)
