Exact finite-range analysis of 12C(3He,n) 14O reaction

  • 1. Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science, Drexel, University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104

Description

The (3He,n) reaction on 12C has been used to study the low lying states of 14O in the energy range 12 MeV < E < 24 MeV. The experimental angular distributions have been analyzed by the exact finite range as well as zero range distorted-wave Born-approximation theory. Spectroscopic amplitudes were obtained from the shell model calculations of True on the mass 14 systems. It is found that the exact finite-range distorted-wave Born approximation theory gives reasonable to good fits to the experimental angular distributions as well to relative strengths. However, the normalization factor is too small by about 20
