Description
Thick film superconductors, based on the compound YBa2Cu3O7 and on Bi2O3 modified YBa2Cu3O7 with a nominal composition Y0.8Bi0.2Ba2Cu3O7 were prepared. Pastes were printed and fired on ZrO2, MgO, SrZrO3, Sr2Nb2O5, SrTiO3, Y2BaCuO5 and BaWO4 ceramic substrates. Tc (onset) was between 90 K and 95 K while the values of Tc (R=0) (extrapolated) varied between 83 K on ZrO2 substrate and 10 K on SrZrO3 substrate. Due to interaction with the substrate material, YBa2Cu3O7 transforms on Y2BaCuO5 and BaWO4 substrate into insulating Y2BaCuO5 compound. (orig.)
