Solution of linear difference equation systems with a sparse non-banded matrix on multi-processor distributed-memory computers

  • 1. Russian Federal Nuclear Center, VNIIEF, Nizhni Novgorod region (Russian Federation)

Description

The paper proposes two methods for solving linear equation systems with a sparse non-banded matrix on multiprocessor distributed-memory computers: iterative and direct. The methods have been implemented in code RATEG for simulation of power reactor facilities. Computations are conducted to verify efficiency of the methods. A speedup of 4 for the iterative direct method and a speedup of 6.2 for the direct method are obtained on an eight-processor computer. (author)
