Metallurgical exploration of two sodium mixers in austenitic stainless steel cracked in-service by thermal fatigue
Description
A description is given of the damage, exploration and examination of the defect zones for two mixers which had become defective after 7000 hours service. In both cases fatigue cracking was involved, following stress of thermal origin
