The effect of rare-earth ions on the functional properties of bacteriorhodopsin
Description
Study on the absorption spectra of the LnX3-BRh (Ln-La, Nd, Gd, Yb; BRh - bacteriorhodopsin) systems and on dependences of change in free BRh concentration on time of interaction is carried out. It is shown that in all systems there takes place the complex formation of Ln3+ ions with BRh. This reaction proceeds most actively and completely in the LaCl3-BRh system. Complex formation of Ln3+ ions, which produces essential effect on the albumin functional properties, is proved
