Providing contract research and development support for utilities

The work of the Electrical Power Research Institute, including the Nuclear Safety Analysis Center, in helping utilities assure nuclear power plant safety is described. The Institute's activities include degraded core cooling investigations, improvements of steam generator and safety valve reliability, assurance of primary coolant boundary integrity and the development of non-destructive evaluation techniques.
