An introduction to the types of position-sensitive neutron detectors
Description
In this chapter, the authors first present an extended list of the PSD characteristics which are of interest to neutron scatterers. The principles of operation of established PSD systems are then explained with reference to Axmann's review (Paper 1) and to other papers both in this volume and in the literature. In each case, the qualities of the system are discussed in terms of the characteristics already enumerated. The chapter is concluded by a brief description of some prototype PSDs
