Description

Full text: We present classical trajectory Monte-Carlo calculations for ionisation of helium in positron collisions. The incident positron energy was varied between the ionisation threshold and 500 eV. We compare our results with Coulomb distorted-wave calculation and with experimental data. In general, good agreement is found. As a new feature we present excitation-ionisation cross sections where the He+ ion remains in the 1s ground state or is excited to the 2s or 2p state. To our knowledge no experimental data are available for state-resolved excitation-ionisation processes
