Cherenkov radiation from a finite emission length
Description
The author observed Cherenkov radiation from gases in the millimeter wave and visible regions, which was emitted by electron beams from linear accelerators. The radiation is observed only when a path length of the electrons, or the emission length, is longer than the formation zone
