Excitation of isovector M1 states in p-wave neutron resonance capture reactions on 56Fe
- 1. Research Laboratory for Nuclear Reactors, Tokyo Institute of Technology, 2-12-1 0-okayama, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 152, Japan
Description
Strong, anomalous M1 transitions leading from the p-wave neutron resonance states at 34.20, 38.40, and 59.20 keV to either ground (1/2-) or first excited state(3/2-) in 57Fe have been observed. These transitions are comprehensible in the framework of the the semidirect model, assuming excitation of isovector M1 states in the target nucleus
