Integrated system of the computer-controlled conformation radiotherapy at Aichi Cancer Centre Hospital (ACCROS)

Using the various kinds of three dimensional images such as CT, MR and other X-ray images, the 3-D treatment planning is calculated and the treatment data of the optimal treatment planning is sent to the computer-controlled linear accelerator with multileafed conformation device on line. We call this system ACCROS (Aichi Cancer Centre Radiation Oncology System). In support of the construction of ACCROS the clinical application of the conformation radiotherapy technique becomes very easy, practical and accurate. During ten months experience, it turned out that our ACCROS is easy to use not only for the daily routine work but also for the sophisticated conformation radiotherapy and dynamic radiotherapy.
