Optical constants and electronic structure of LaB6, EuB6 and SmB6 single crystals prepared by the solution method

Description
The reflectivities in the energy range between 0.05 and 40 eV at 300 K were studied on plate-like single crystals of LaB6, EuB6 and SmB6 prepared by the solution method from aluminium. The optical constants of these crystals were derived by means of a Kramers-Kronig analysis. The data obtained for LaB6 were compared with the results of band structure calculations and the observed optical transitions were interpreted. (Auth.)
