Which future for the Manche centre?
Creators
Description
In charge of the evaluation of the situation of the radioactive waste disposal site of the Manche centre (France), the commission presided by M. Turpin made its conclusions available in the beginning of the summer of 1996. On July 16, the French ministers of industry and environment accepted responsibility for the trends of the commission and defined the limits inside which the centre will develop in the forthcoming decades. This short digest paper takes stocks of this dossier: inventory of wastes, confinement, sanitary impact, radiological surveillance. An interview of M. Turpin is included. (J.S.)
