Description
The paper deals with questions concerning the fabrication of plutonium dioxide fuel elements. Some of the physical properties of plutonium dioxide are presented (melting point, crystalline lattice constant, coefficient of linear expansion, microstructure), together with the results of research into the compatibility of plutonium dioxide with the materials used in fabrication (Nb, Mo, W, Ta, Ni, Fe, Cr, Cu etc.) and with the coolant (K-Na and Na). Methods of preparing sintered plutonium dioxide rods (compacting sintering) are investigated and the effects of these methods on the plutonium dioxide properties are established. (author)

V doklade izlozheny voprosy, kasajushhiesja kon- strukcii TVJeL s toplivom v vide dvuokisi plutonija. Privedeny nekotorye fizicheskie svojstva dvuokisi plutonija (temperatura plav- lenija, postojannaja kristallicheskoj reshetki, kojefficient linejnogo rasshirenija, mikrostruktura), a takzhe rezul'taty issledovanij sovmestimosti dvuokisi plutonija s konstrukcionnymi materialami (Nb, Mo, W, Ta, Ni, Fe, Cr, Cu i dr.) i teplonositelem (K - Na i Na). Issledovany processy prigotovlenija spechennyh serdechnikov iz dvuokisi plutonija (pressovanie, spekanie) i ustanovlena zakonomernost' izmenenija nekotoryh svojstv dvuokisi plutonija v zavisimosti ot rezhimov izgotovlenija ee.
