Chromodynamics as the theory of strong interactions
Description
The paper contains a popular presentation of the present status of quantum chromodynamics. The main features of the theory are described including asymptotic freedom regime at small distances and symmetry breaking patterns at large distances. The vacuum properties and current theoretical methods are briefly discussed
