Quasimolecular resonance in inelastic 12C + 16O scattering
Description
It is suggested that the doublet-like intermediate structures observed in the inelastic 12C+16O scattering leading to the (3-,0+) state at 6.1 MeV in 16O is due to the interference between the quasimolecular state strongly coupled to the 3- state at 6.13 MeV in 16O and the one weakly coupled to the 2+ state at 4.43 MeV in 12C.
